Male Victim Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Collision near Belle Terrace

BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 25, 2022) – Friday evening, one man was killed in a hit-and-run on South H Street. 

Authorities responded to the scene around 8:12 p.m., at the 700 block of South H Street near Belle Terrace.

Per reports, the driver of a gray GMC Yukon, or possibly a similar vehicle, struck a man at the intersection. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the severely injured victim. 

Medics responded and pronounced the male victim dead at the scene. Although, his identity remains undisclosed pending notification of next of kin.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, the Bakersfield Police Department and Major Collision Investigation Team continues investigating the fatal hit-and-run on South H Street.
