Male Pedestrian Fatally Stuck in Hit-and-Run near Kerrnita Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 29, 2022) – Tuesday morning, a hit-and-run crash on Weedpatch Highway left one man dead.
Officers responded to the scene around 3:30 a.m., just south of Kerrnita Road on November 22nd.
According to the California Highway Patrol, an unknown vehicle hit a man walking in the southbound traffic lane of Weedpatch Highway. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the severely injured victim.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Although, his identity remains undisclosed at this time.
Crews closed down both directions of the roadway for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Those with further information about the possible hit-and-run driver are encouraged to contact local authorities as soon as possible.
