Another day, another crazy guy perched high in the sky.

Following yesterday's fun with a naked man who climbed atop a radio tower behind a city building downtown, a car-theft suspect this morning hopped atop a roof in Westwood and remained in a standof with cops as five news helicopters hovered above.

This one started when …

Officers attempted to stop the man's ride at Malcolm and Manning avenues at 7:52 a.m., LAPD Officer Bruce Borihanh tells the Weekly.

The car's plates indicated it was stolen, he said.

The suspect wasn't in the mood to chat, however, and he led cops on a short pursuit that ended in the 800 block of Malcolm Avenue, Borihanh said. He fled on foot and ended up reportedly jumping from rooftop to rooftop until finding a cozy place to stay.

A woman in the car was “taken into custody” by authorities, but it wasn't yet clear if she had been arrested, Borihanh said.

According to KTLA News the man appeared agitated at times and was heard saying this to officers:

If I could get to my gun, I would kill all of you.

He seems to have calmed down and even made a move toward a ladder offered up by cops and firefighters, according to reports, but he remained unmoved.

According to tweets from the scene, SWAT members had been called into to deal with the guy.

Suffice it to say: Streets in the area were blocked off.

[Updated at 1:09 p.m.]: As seen on TV: Police set up a ramp, got near the guy and shot him with a bean-bag rounds, according to coverage from KTLA News. That seemed to do the trick, and he put his hands behind his back for a zip-tie collaring.
