Two-Car Collision on Britto Road Left One Dead

MERCED COUNTY, CA (September 11, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, a man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 152.

The incident occurred just before 5:40 a.m., on August 29th, on Highway 152 at Britto Road.

According to reports, the man allegedly crossed both lanes of Highway 152 on Turner Island after failing to stop at a traffic light.

His car collided head-on with an approaching Honda carrying a 12-year-old kid and a 38-year-old mother.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the site of the collision shortly after. There, they pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, medical responders rushed the other passenger to a hospital for further treatment.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
