39-Year-Old Driver Dies in T-Bone Collision near Jamboree Road

IRVINE, CA (December 8, 2022) – Friday morning, a two-vehicle crash on 405 Freeway claimed the life of one man. 

The incident happened around 5:45 a.m., just south of Jamboree Road in the city of Irvine. 

According to reports, a Nissan 350Z lost control and came to a rest perpendicular along the freeway. There, the driver of an SUV struck the Nissan on its driver’s side.

Responding crews discovered the two vehicles blocking the two right lanes of the freeway. Crews closed the surrounding area for at least two hours during cleanup and preliminary duties.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the driver of the Nissan dead at Orange County Global Medical Center. His identity remains undisclosed, pending notification from next of kin. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV remained at Mission Hospital with minor to moderate injuries. 

At this time, Irvine Officials are still working to determine further circumstances surrounding the 405 Freeway two-vehicle crash.
