Pedestrian Collision near La Jolla Parkway Left One Fatality

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 22, 2022) – A pedestrian crash on Torrey Pines Road claimed the life of an elderly man Monday evening.

According to Officer John Buttle, the incident occurred just after 6:00 p.m. at the 2500 block of Torrey Pines, east of La Jolla Parkway.

Furthermore, the investigators determined that a 2012 Toyota Camry driven by a 40-year-old woman struck the man while heading east on Torrey Pines Road.

Eventually, first responders arrived and transported the 70-year-old male pedestrian to a local hospital where he later died.

Moreover at this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains unclear.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

San Diego Officials are investigating the pedestrian crash.
