Pedestrian Crash on Newport Boulevard Left One Fatality

COSTA MESA, CA (December 1, 2021) – A pedestrian crash on Newport Boulevard claimed the life of a man early Thursday morning.

According to the police, a northbound vehicle struck the man walking on Newport, south of 17th Street.

Eventually, officers responded to the scene around 2:35 a.m. and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the scene and worked with investigators.

At this time, officials only identified the deceased victim as a 24-year-old man.

Costa Mesa police are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the Newport Boulevard pedestrian crash.
