Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Vermont Avenue

HOLLYWOOD, CA (April 29, 2022) – Monday evening, a pedestrian crash on Highway 101 claimed the life of one man, police said.

The collision occurred around 9:25 p.m. on southbound lanes of the freeway near Vermont Avenue in East Hollywood.

According to reports, the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado hit a pedestrian in the far left lane of the freeway. Eventually, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, California Highway Patrol officers requested that Caltrans shutdown through-traffic on the freeway for about an hour to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

The two far right lanes of the freeway reopened around 10:20 p.m., but the left lanes were closed for several hours. At this time, an active investigation into the deadly pedestrian crash is still currently underway.
