Pedestrian Collision on Mohawk Street Left One Dead
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 22, 2023) – Early Friday morning, a man was killed in a pedestrian crash on Hageman Road. Officers responded to the collision on May 19th, at around 12:15 a.m. at the intersection of Hageman Road and Mohawk Street. Upon arrival, police determined that a vehicle traveling westbound on Hageman hit a man walking outside the crosswalk. The impact of the collision fatally injured the man. The man was declared dead at the scene, despite the life-saving efforts of the paramedics. His name remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin. Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the authorities. Bakersfield Officials said that drugs or alcohol did not factor in the collision.
