42-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision on Coronado Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 11, 2022) – A man died following a pedestrian crash on Coronado Avenue, early Tuesday evening.

The crash took place around 6:00 p.m., in the 2100 block of Coronado Avenue.

As per reports, a 29-year-old man was driving a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta on the road. For reasons unknown, he struck a 42-year-old pedestrian that was walking in the area.

Due to the impact of the collision, the male pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries before he was later pronounced dead. Officials said it is unclear whether the victim died at the scene or at the hospital.

Moreover, authorities withheld the victim’s identity until his next of kin are notified.

California Highway Patrol officials have not released any additional information about the crash, but an active investigation is underway.
