Man in Wheelchair Died after Pedestrian Accident on Long Beach Boulevard

LONG BEACH, CA (November 30, 2022) – Early Thursday morning, an old man died following a pedestrian crash at 27th Street.

The incident happened on November 24th, at about 12:42 a.m. involving a pedestrian in a wheelchair and a 2017 Toyota Camry.

Initial investigation showed that the Camry traveling south on Long Beach Boulevard struck the pedestrian crossing a crosswalk at 27th Street.

Responding officers and crews arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Camry remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

At this time, police are unable to determine who had the right of way. However, neither speed nor impairment was a factor in the crash.
