One Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Sheldon

HOUSTON, TX (January 18, 2024) – One male victim died Saturday night in a pedestrian crash at the 16000 block of East Freeway.

At approximately 10:00 p.m., law enforcement arrived near Sheldon.

According to investigators, a male pedestrian was crossing the freeway while pushing a bicycle. At that moment, the driver of a gray Nissan Versa veered to the left, colliding with and knocking down the pedestrian. Subsequently, a second vehicle struck the injured man and continued driving without offering assistance or reporting the incident to the police.

Emergency crews discovered car parts at the site, linking them to a 2019-2021 Honda Civic.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan cooperated with the ongoing investigation.
