Oildale Pedestrian Collision Results in Fatality

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 26, 2021) – The CHP confirmed one fatality after a deadly pedestrian accident on Olive Drive on Friday.

Officers responded to the incident around 8:40 p.m., near the corner of Airport and Olive Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious male pedestrian lying on the roadway. Due to the extent of his injuries, the man died at the scene.

Later on, the CHP determined that a woman traveling south on Airport Drive said she saw something on the road. She then struck the man before she could stop in time.

At this time, the Bakersfield Officials continue to withhold the identity of the deceased victim.
