Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Monterey Road in San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA (June 1, 2021) – A man was killed Friday evening after a fatal pedestrian accident on Monterey Road in San Jose.

The fatal accident happened just after 9:20 p.m., on May 28. Officers arrived at Monterey Road and Valleyhaven Way.

According to CHP, a northbound dark gray 2020 Jeep Wrangler hit and struck a pedestrian walking outside a marked crosswalky.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead due to the extent of his condition.

In addition, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Furthermore, CHP said the area was temporarily closed for investigation. But, the roadway has since reopened since the pedestrian accident on Monterey Road.

At this point, police have not confirmed their identities nor their conditions.

CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal pedestrian accident. Officers will release more information once it is available.
