Man Pronounced Dead after Three-Vehicle Collision near Las Posas Road
VENTURA, COUNTY, CA (August 21, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, one man was killed in a multi-car accident on Pacific Coast Highway. Authorities responded to the scene around 4:40 p.m., near Point Mugu and Las Posas Road. Per reports, the driver of a white 2022 BMW was heading south when he crossed over the solid double yellow lines. As a result, the BMW struck an oncoming 2012 Ford truck with two Oxnard men in their 30s inside. Upon impact, the truck was pushed into oncoming lanes where it was struck by a 2019 Honda. Inside the Honda were two women in their 20’s and a 30-year-old Oxnard man. In addition, one of the vehicles overturned and caught fire. First responders located all three vehicles with severe damage upon arrival. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire shortly after 5:00 p.m. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one male driver dead at the scene. Although, police have not yet released their identity. Emergency personnel blocked off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
