Male Motorcyclist Fatally Struck in Collision near Sand Canyon Road

SOMIS, CA (November 32, 2021) – Early Wednesday morning, a man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 118.

According to California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 6:30 a.m., just east of Sand Canyon Road. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the motorcyclist lying in the traffic lanes and immediately initiated CPR. However, the man described to be in his 50s and a Camarillo resident, died at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities pointed out that the crash involved a Harley Davidson and Ford Escort.

Moreover, officers say the motorcyclist crossed the double yellow lines to pass stopped cars along the freeway and rear-ended the Ford Escort.

At this time, officials are still working to identify the deceased victim of the motorcycle accident on Highway 118.
