Motorcycle Crash near Cuesta Grande Left Rider Dead

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (September 20, 2022) – Friday evening, one man was pronounced dead after a motorcycle accident on Highway 101.

The deadly collision happened just before 5 p.m., per San Luis Obispo authorities.

According to the report, a 31-year-old man from San Miguel was northbound on Highway 101 at around 100 mph, passing traffic in both lanes.

Investigators said the rider rounded a curve in the road, causing the motorcycle to drift onto the right shoulder and collide with the guardrail. Eventually, the rider and his bike came to rest in the right turn lane at Reservoir Canyon Road.

Tragically, the rider died due to the extent of his injuries. However, his identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
