Motorcyclist Fatally Struck near Brokaw Road in San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA (August 26, 2021) – Tuesday night, a man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101, near Brokaw Road in San Jose.

Officers responded to the scene around 7:29 p.m., after receiving reports of a body lying on the road.

According to reports, a man in his late 50s was traveling at about 60 mph in the far left lane when another vehicle veered into his path. In attempt to avoid a collision, the rider swerved to the right and struck the rear of a stopped vehicle.

The rider was ejected from his bike and thrown onto the roadway as a result of the impact. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead on scene. No other injuries were reported.

Following the incident, the CHP closed the surrounding area for a few hours during investigation and cleanup.

At this time, authorities have not released to the identity of the victim involved. However, an active investigation is underway.
