40-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near East Warren Avenue

OILDALE, CA (June 7, 2023) – Saturday evening, one man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Chester Avenue. Police responded to the scene around 9:25 p.m., near East Warren Avenue on May 27th. According to reports, a man was walking outside of a marked crosswalk on the northbound side of Chester Avenue. Investigators say he waked directly into the path of an oncoming Chevrolet SUV. The SUV driver was unable to stop in time and consequently struck the pedestrian. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation is underway and the Oildale police department will release additional information once available.
