Vehicle Collision on Road 406 Left One Fatality

MADERA COUNTY, CA (March 17, 2022) – A head-on crash along Highway 41 claimed the life of one man Monday afternoon, police said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 41 and Road 406.

Furthermore, authorities said that southbound green Toyota Tacoma began to drift onto the right shoulder on Highway 41.

Afterward, the driver over-corrected causing the vehicle to overturn onto its side.

Ultimately, the Toyota collided head-on with a northbound vehicle after sliding on the roadway.

Tragically, the Tacoma driver died at the scene while the second driver remained uninjured.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Madera County officials continue to investigate the head-on crash.
