Highway 178 Head-On Collision Left One Fatality

BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 14, 2021) Police are investigating a deadly head-on crash on Highway 178 that left one man killed, said CHP.

The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m., when a man driving westbound on 178 drifted into the right shoulder into the other lane.

As a result, the vehicle struck a Ford Explorer head-on. Due to the impact of the crash, the CHP declared one driver dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 68-year-old female Ford driver from Wofford Heights suffered from moderate injuries.

Bakersfield Officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the deadly head-on crash on Highway 178.
