Head-On Collision near San Francisquito Canyon Road Left Two Hurt, One Dead

SANTA CLARITA, CA (February 24, 2022) – A head-on crash on Green Valley, killed one person Sunday evening, authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. near San Francisquito Canyon Road and Fire Camp.

Furthermore, the investigation revealed that a 2015 Toyota Prius driver in the northbound lane approached a southbound 2014 Honda CRV.

Subsequently, the driver allowed his Toyota to drift left into the southbound lane, hitting the front-end of the Honda.

Unfortunately the Honda driver, identified as a Moorpark resident in his 60s, died at the scene.

Meanwhile, their passenger, a 74-year-old Moorpark resident, received major injuries.

The 54-year-old Toyota driver from Lancaster sustained moderate injuries.

Both directions of the roadway were closed for an undisclosed amount of time to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
