25-Year-Old Victim Pronounced Dead after Car Collision near Severin Drive

LA MESA, CA (January 25, 2022) – Saturday evening, a male victim was killed in a fatal rollover accident on Interstate 8.

The deadly crash took place on the westbound lanes of the highway near Severin Drive. Crews responded to the scene around 7:35 p.m.

According to reports, a man was driving a 2006 Subaru Legacy recklessly before his vehicle veered right off the embankment, and overturned. Debris landed on the westbound lanes and hit a passing 2015 Chevrolet Cruze.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one 25-year-old man dead at the scene. Officials currently have no information of the victim’s name and no other injuries were reported.

In addition, police temporarily blocked off the surrounding area for cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, the roadway has since reopened.

At this time, investigators are unsure as to what caused the driver to veer off the road. However, an active investigation remains ongoing.
