SR-49 Car Accident Left One Stockton Man Dead

AMADOR COUNTY, CA (November 23, 2021) – A deadly car accident at southbound SR-49 took the life of a Stockton Man early Wednesday morning.

According to the CHP, the incident happened when a southbound Honda Insight travelled at a high rate of speed.

Meanwhile, a 2015 Toyota Corolla was going northbound on SR-49 at about 45-50 MPH.

Afterwards, the Insight driver allowed his vehicle to drift off the west roadway then steered abruptly to the left.

The Insight went across the double yellow lines and directly into the path of the Corolla.

As a result, the front end of the Corolla struck the right rear of the Honda Insight.

Authorities pointed out that the collision caused the Honda to spin out of control, ejecting the driver off the east roadway edge of SR-49.

The Insight came to a stop after hitting a tree, leaving the driver with fatal injuries.

Meanwhile, the Corolla driver, identified as 28-year-old Jeanne Raines of Pine Grove, sustained minor injuries.

Amador County Officials are currently investigating the fatal car crash.
