Bicyclist Dead in Traffic Accident Crash on 21st Street

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 15, 2022) – One person died early Wednesday morning in a bicycle crash on Oak Street.

The incident happened just after midnight on August 10th on Oak Street and 21st Street, per initial reports.

According to police, the bicyclist was struck while riding along Oak Street for reasons currently unknown.

Furthermore, the man was found unresponsive on the road with severe injuries and was transported to Kern Medical, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the vehicle’s driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police said he showed no signs of impairment.

In addition, speed was not identified as a factor in the crash. The cause of the incident is still under investigation at this time.
