56-Year-Old Man Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision on Santa Fe Avenue

SAN MARCOS, CA (January 21, 2022) – Sunday afternoon, a man was killed and four were hurt in a head-on crash on South Santa Fe Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene around 4:08 p.m., on the 2700 block of South Santa Fe Avenue.

For reasons unknown, a silver Toyota minivan and a blue Scion sedan collided head-on. Due to the impact of the collision, medics transported the 56-year-old male sedan driver to a local hospital where he later died.

Additionally, medics transported the four occupants inside the minivan to a local hospital. They were said to have suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Further events leading up to the crash on South Santa Fe Avenue remain under active investigation. Once available, more details will be provided.
