Male Driver Hurt in 2-Car Accident near Latona in Redding

REDDING, CA (January 21, 2022) – Monday night, a male driver was injured in a two-vehicle collision on State Route 273.

According to California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 6:00 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the highway near Latona.

For reasons unknown, a man exited from his vehicle and was then struck by another vehicle. Eventually, first responders arrived and transported the man to Mercy Medical with major injuries.

Redding Officials closed the surrounding area on State Route 273 for roughly an hour as authorities investigated the incident. Although, the road has since reopened.

No further details have been provided. At this time, California Highway Patrol officers are still working to identify the circumstances surrounding the two-vehicle collision on State Route 273.
