Male Pedestrian Struck and Injured in Crash near Mission Valley

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 11, 2022) – Wednesday morning, a man was struck and seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 805.

The crash happened on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Mission Valley, around 8:30 a.m.

According to authorities, a red sedan struck the man on the No.3 lane near the Interstate 8 interchange. Reports indicate the man was attempting to cross the freeway at the time.

Medics arrived and assessed the man with an “open head fracture”. Meanwhile, officers issued an alert, closing all three lanes while clearing the scene, before they reopened around 9:00 a.m.

There are no further details available as of this time, but an active investigation is still ongoing.
