Drunk Driver Kills Horse, Injures Rider near Pastor Lane

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (June 10, 2022) – Friday night, a driver fatally struck a horse and injured its rider in a DUI crash on Delta Road.

According to initial reports, the unidentified driver struck the horse from behind along Delta Road, sending the rider onto the roadway.

The horse died on impact and the rider was seriously injured, per first responders. Furthermore, the injured rider was transported to John Muir Medical Center for further treatment.

Moreover, authorities reported signs of impairment from the driver and subsequently arrested them at the scene.
