20-Year-Old Man Injured Following Traffic Crash on Via De La Valle

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 4, 2022) – A 20-year-old man sustained injuries in a head-on collision on Via De La Valle Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:51 p.m. in the 14900 block of Via De La Valle on April 27th.

According to reports, the victim was driving eastbound in a 1999 blue Mazda Miata convertible when he entered the two-way center lane and passed in front of a westbound silver 2022 Chevrolet Volt EV.

Both drivers attempted to avoid a crash by veering into the westbound lane but collided head-on.

As a result, the Mazda driver sustained a fracture to his left femur as well as several other fractures. Medics rushed him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the 16-year-old female Chevrolet driver complained of pain but refused hospitalization.

Authorities will released further information once available. However, an active investigation is underway.
