Injury Reported after Pedestrian Collision near Grand Avenue in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ (October 28, 2021) – Early Friday morning, one man sustained critical injuries in a pedestrian accident near 35th Avenue.

The accident took place around 4:00 a.m., near the intersection of 35th and Grand Avenue. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after.

According to police, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway near the intersection for reasons unknown. There, he was hit by a passing pickup-truck that was hauling a trailer.

Police confirmed that the pickup-truck driver was assessed and showed no symptoms of impairment. Although, their identity has not been provided.

Following the incident, the junction was closed during cleanup and preliminary duties. This forced traffic to back up for miles on Grand Avenue before the road was later reopened.
