Traffic Crash on Interstate 8 near Mollison Avenue Left One Man Injured

EL CAJON, CA (December 28, 2021) – A man is recovering in a hospital after a vehicle crash on Interstate 8 Sunday afternoon.

According to the CHP, a 2002 gold Buick stopped after it ran out of fuel around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday near Mollison Avenue.

However, a 2014 Hyundai Elantra failed to stop behind the Buick and rear-ended it, hitting the man who exited the vehicle.

Eventually, the responders arrived and transported the Buick driver to Sharp Medical Hospital for major injuries.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old female Hyundai driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

Later on, the authorities identified the victim as a 22-year-old man.

El Cajon officials are investigating the incident.
