22-Year-Old Man Injured in Pedestrian Crash near Fairmount Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 17, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, a man was hospitalized following a pedestrian collision on Home Avenue.

The incident happened around 3:45 a.m., on Home Avenue near Fairmount Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man ran into the street and was hit by a car, under unknown circumstances. The impact sent the man several feet into the air and he landed approximately 25 feet away.

Paramedics arrived and rushed the 22-year-old man to a nearby hospital. The pedestrian suffered from broken ribs and a lacerated spleen in addition to his head injury. Investigators said a witness saw the man arguing with his wife before he ran into the road.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officials. At this time, officials have not released information about the pedestrian collision on Home Avenue, but an active investigation is underway.
