37-Year-Old Pedestrian Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash near Copley Drive

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 1, 2023) – Late Monday night, one man was hospitalized after a hit-and-run pedestrian collision on Copley Park Place. Police received dispatch calls in the area around 11:45 p.m., on the eastbound lanes of the road near Copley Drive on April 24th. Upon arrival, investigators learned that a man was walking on the eastbound lanes when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle. The driver then immediately fled the scene without rendering aid or calling for help. First responders located the man with serious injuries, including head trauma and fractured ribs. Paramedics transported the 37-year-old male pedestrian to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity. Following preliminary duties, officers say there were no witnesses during the incident. As a result, the suspect is still at large.
