Head-On Collision near Main Street Left Driver Hospitalized
SANTA MARIA, CA (October 12, 2021) – Tuesday morning, a man was hospitalized following a head-on food truck crash on Ray Road.
The incident occurred just after 8:00 a.m., at the intersection of West Main Street and Ray Road. Emergency crews responded to the area shortly after.
Eventually, the CHP, CalStar and County Fire personnel responded at the scene and brought several medics.
Upon arrival, crews located one food truck in a ditch. The other truck was found overturned on the side of the road, resting on a telephone pole.
Later, investigators determined that one 27-year-old driver extricated himself after being pinned down.
According to the CHP, both drivers did not sustain life-threatening injuries. However, they transported the 27-year-old driver to Marian Regional Hospital for treatment.
Santa Maria officials are working to identify further circumstances surrounding the truck collision.
