Pedestrian Hospitalized after Collision near Petaluma Boulevard

PETALUMA, CA (December 1, 2021) – A 33-year-old Penngrove man sustained injuries Saturday night in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101.

The accident happened around 11:30 p.m., on Highway 101 near Petaluma Boulevard exit. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to report, the driver of a Toyota Rav4 struck a man who was walking north in the right lane of southbound Highway 101. Although, authorities are unsure as to why the pedestrian was in the road at the time.

Responding officers rushed the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with severe injuries, but his current condition is unknown. Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials.

In addition, California Highway Patrol closed off the surrounding area for a few hours during clearing operations.

Petaluma police did not release any additional information at this time. However, further investigation is underway.
