Male Pedestrian Killed in Deadly Collision on Alvin Avenue in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, CA (December 10, 2021)  – Early Saturday evening, a man was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash on McClelland Street.

The accident happened around 6:50 p.m., near the intersection of McClelland Street and Alvin Avenue. Emergency crews arrived shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

In addition, California Highway Patrol responded to the scene after receiving reports of a man lying on the roadway after a pedestrian accident.

Paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. As of now, police only described the victim as a Hispanic man.

In addition, police stated all people involved in the crash remained at the site and cooperated with the investigation. However, it is unknown whether speed, drugs, or alcohol are factors in the crash.

At this time, the events that led to the accident remain unknown. Santa Maria police ask anyone with information to reach and call them at their local offices.
