Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Quebec Avenue

KETTLEMAN CITY, CA (March 8, 2022)Monday, a man was fatally struck in a deadly pedestrian crash on Interstate 5.

The collision took place along I-5 near Quebec Avenue on the 28th of February. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

California Highway Patrol officers say the incident began when a man attempted to flee the scene of a two-vehicle accident. Authorities said the driver exited the dirt median and crossed directly in front of a Nissan driven by a 33-year-old Fair Oaks man.

The driver swerved in attempt to avoid striking the pedestrian, but was unsuccessful. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

At this time, officials withheld the deceased man’s name until his next of kin are notified. Authorities are currently investigating whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the deadly accident.
