36-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident near 19th Street

LONG BEACH, CA (May 17, 2022) – Monday evening, a 36-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian crash on Atlantic Avenue.

The incident happened near 19th Street around 9:15 p.m.

According to reports, a woman was driving north on Atlantic Avenue in a 2014 Honda. There, the driver struck the male pedestrian as he was attempting to cross outside of a marked crosswalk.

Responding paramedics arrived and took the pedestrian to a nearby hospital where he later died. However, authorities have not yet released his identity.

Meanwhile, the driver stayed and cooperated with the authorities. At this time, officials have not released the names of the driver and the deceased victim.

Long Beach Officials closed the roadway for a short period during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, authorities continue to investigate the fatal pedestrian crash on Atlantic Avenue.
