Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Crash near 26th Street
SACRAMENTO, CA (November 21, 2022) – Thursday night, a man was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Highway 50.
The incident happened shortly before 7:00 p.m., near 26th Street.
According to reports, the driver of a passing vehicle struck a pedestrian that was attempting to move from the center divider to the shoulder of the highway.
Due to the impact of the collision, the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Police have not yet released his identity pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Following preliminary duties, authorities ruled out drugs and alcohol as a potential factor. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time before it was later reopened.
