Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Collision near Nobel Drive

SAN DIEGO, CA (April 5, 2022) – Late Monday evening, a man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 5.

The incident occurred around 11:09 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the highway near Nobel Drive.

For reasons unknown, the male pedestrian was walking along southbound I-5 when the driver of a Toyota sedan struck him.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet provided their identity.

Meanwhile, crews only described the Toyota driver as a 23-year-old man.

Traffic in the area slowed down until 4:00 a.m. Meanwhile, it was undetermined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

At this time, an active investigation into the pedestrian accident on Interstate 5 is still ongoing.
