Male Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Semi-Truck near Highway 152
MADERA, CA (June 10, 2022) – Early Wednesday morning, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99.
Officers received reports about the incident around 2:40 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway just south of Highway 152.
For reasons unknown, the driver of a semi-truck struck a pedestrian on the road. Upon impact, the semi-truck driver pulled over and contacted authorities.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male on the west shoulder of the Highway. Furthermore, investigators said the man appeared to run into the roadway before he was struck by a big-rig.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene. Meanwhile, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
At this time, Madera Officials continue to investigate the fatal pedestrian collision.
