41-Year-Old Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Palm Avenue

AUBURN, CA (August 25, 2023) – Tuesday evening, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Highway 49. Authorities responded to the scene around 8:20 p.m., near Elm Avenue. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after. Per reports, a man was attempting to cross the road outside of a marked crosswalk. There, the driver of a passing vehicle struck the male pedestrian. Due to the impact of the collision, medics pronounced the 41-year-old man dead at the scene. Although, police have not yet released his identity. Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe the driver was impaired.
