Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision on Rose Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (November 21, 2022) – Early Wednesday morning, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on East 7th Street.

The incident happened around 3:20 a.m., on Rose Avenue near the Luther Burbank Elementary School.

According to police, the driver of a westbound 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer struck a male pedestrian in the area. First responders arrived and located the unconscious man.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene. Moreover, the driver of the Mitsubishi stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Following preliminary duties, police ruled out distracted driving and impairment as a potential factor in the crash, but speed may be a possible factor.
