Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Adams Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 5, 2023) – Thursday night, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on State Route 15. Authorities responded to the scene around 9:00 p.m., on the northbound lanes just south of Adams Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado struck a male pedestrian in the area. Due to the extent of injuries, medics pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity. Meanwhile, the 57-year-old driver of the Chevy pickup remained at the scene. Following preliminary duties, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. In the end, authorities closed multiple lanes for at least two hours as crews investigate the area. San Diego Officials are asking anyone with information about the State Route 15 pedestrian crash to contact the CHP at (858) 293-6000.
