Male Pedestrian Killed in Deadly Collision near 9th Avenue South

FEDERAL WAY, WA (March 4, 2022) – Early Tuesday morning, a man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run accident on 348th Street.

Just after midnight, officers responded to the scene in the 900 block of South 348th Street.

Per reports, a driver struck a 58-year-old male pedestrian in the area for reasons unknown.

Upon arrival, crews located the victim with “significant injuries” down on the roadway. Officers performed first aid on the man until paramedics arrived. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Washington Police located the hit-and-run vehicle that crashed into a nearby building. However, the driver fled the area. The Federal Way Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is now investigating the incident.

The surrounding area was also closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.
