Fatal Train Collision on Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad

FRESNO, CA (December 14, 2021) – Sunday night, a male pedestrian was fatally struck by an Amtrak train near North Palm Avenue.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 8:30 p.m., on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks.

Shortly after, emergency crews responded to the scene near North Palm and Dakota Avenue.

Investigators later determined that a man attempted to cross the tracks and was hit by the train. Due to the impact of the collision, first responders declared the man dead at the scene.

At this time, the Fresno officials are still working to identify the deceased man. Meanwhile, the Amtrak police are working to identify the circumstances the led to the incident.
