Man Pronounced Dead after Coaster Train Accident near West Washington Street

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 7, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a man was fatally struck in a bicycle vs train collision on Pacific Highway. The incident occurred around 3:25 p.m., near West Washington Street. Per reports, a male cyclist was riding along the tracks when a northbound Coaster Train struck him. Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced the male bicyclist dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, the San Diego Sheriff’s Transit Enforcement Unit is leading the investigation. No further details regarding the fatal train collision on Pacific Highway have been released to the public.
