Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Accident near Kentridge Drive

SAN JOSE, CA (April 26, 2023) – Tuesday night, a man was fatally injured in a pedestrian collision on North White Road. First responders arrived to the scene around 6:15 p.m., near Kentridge Drive after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area. Per reports, the driver of a northbound grey 2001 Chevrolet PT Cruiser veered into the southbound lanes for reasons unknown. As a result, the driver struck a pedestrian that was standing in the bike lane, waiting to cross the street. Responding personnel transported the male pedestrian to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Due to the extent of his condition, medics later pronounced him dead on Thursday. Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police took the driver into custody, however, it was unclear whether charges were filed. Officers are currently waiting for a toxicology report from the driver. At this time, San Jose Officials are asking anyone with information about the North White Road pedestrian crash to contact Det.
