Now comes word that a Southern California woman was attacked early this Halloween day by a stranger who was dressed as the Grim Reaper.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department today described the knife-wielding man as an “unknown suspect,” indicating that he was a stranger and that this was possibly random.

Deputies say in a statement they got the call at 1:49 a.m. A woman said she had been stabbed by a stranger while she was in her bathroom:

The victim was stabbed several times by an unknown suspect who was dressed like the Grim Reaper. It is unknown how the suspect entered the residence, but the suspect attacked the victim while she was in the bathroom, then fled.

The victim was taken to Palomar Medical Center with what cops described as “non-life-threatening” wounds.

Responding deputies set up a perimeter and searched the area around the woman's residence at 1904 Thibido Road in Vista with a police dog but turned up nothing, the San Diego Sheriff's Department stated.

Detectives today continued to investigate the attack.
